Gels and acrylics are nearly the same, the system is different. I like both and the durability depends on the nail tech and the materials. I use Crystal Nails and I have never had problems with braking gel or acrylic nail, they are really strong even if I have long nails.
Consult with your nail technician what she prefers, what materials she use, what are the feedbacks for gel and acrylic, your daily life- hobby, house work etc, so she will be ableto find you the best option what fits you most.
There are no "better or worse" products for your nails. It is the tech and you that makes the difference.
Do your homework and research to find a qualified, reputable nail tech that will work with you to find out what product, type, shape, length is best for you! Then follow her home care instructions and make your follow-up appointments for fills regularly depending your natural nail growth. Do not let them go to long or you will have breakage. And do not use your nails like tools!
Good luck and I can not stress this enough--beauty treatments should NEVER HURT!! So choose your tech wisely!
