Default Can I clip or file gel nails?

My aunt got them for me as a going away pressent yesterday.
I am involved in sports so I asked for them short. I have realized that they are not short enough. Would it ruin the nail to file or clip them myslef (i dont have time to re visit the place that did it)
Thank you very much!

If you cut them they will look ugly the best thing to do is file them short.

Yes, you need to use a 100/180 grit file to file them down. If you try to cut them, they will most likely crack.

Do not clip gel, acrylic or fake nails, theres are stick strongly to your nail surface so you can hurt your own nail as well. Cutting or clipping hard materials make the whole thing brake, so you have to file it, or ask a technician to do it for you.
