You need some sort of enhancment product to reinforce the tip that is attached to your nail. It is not there just to "hide" the midline. In fact any skilled tech could apply a tip and blend it to your natural nail and overlay it with clear product and no one would know that it is a glued on tip!
Something like Traditional Hard Gel, SOG, L&P or silk/fiberglass/resin needs to be used over the entire nail to create the balance and strength needed to keep the tip intact. Otherwise, it would come off (possibly painfully) the first time you bumped it!
