Nails- tips or gels? HELP!?

I am 14 and I am thinking about getting tips or gels.
Whats the difference? And what is LCN?
Also, do tips fall off easily?
Can you get designs on gels, or only french?
Do gels or tips ruin your nails?
Can you get them off if you want a regular manicure?
