Default Is it harmful to get fake nails when nails are very short due to biting?

I want to try getting fake nails as a way to stop my biting. Right now my nails are pretty short. Is that okay ? I don't want the long fake nails, just the average length ones. Thank you!

For a biter, I always suggest traditional L&P acrylic. it is just inherantly more rigid and sturdier than gel. They can look very natural if you choose a REPUTABLE, QUALITY, KNOWLEDGABLE, LICENSED tech/salon. Ask for "sculpted, sport length, rounded tip L&P". This will give you neat, natural look that will be appropriate for you to get used to having nails. I find that square or squoval shaped tips tend to get snagged or chipped alot on biters and they end up biting and picking at them causing more damage to their natural nails.
Please read this post for my reply on what to look for and look out for when choosing a salon: first time getting acrylic nails done?
