Whenever i get acrylic nails they never stay on, so each time getting a new full set eats away at my nails so they get very sensitive to hot and cold water and things like that. My nails are really soft, which could be a reason they don't stay on. I've tried gel nails, and they worked the first time i had them but when i got them filled they came right off again. Also when i get manicures the nail polish comes off in about three days. Im not sure why this happens and how to fix it. Thanks
(Whoa, weird. I just got acrylics done yesterday.)
Anyway, not sure if this is what you're looking for or not, but you're not supposed to take the acrylics off, but you melt them off with nail polish remover. If you take them off, it removes a layer of your nail which makes it weaker and more sensitive. Also for the nail polish, you should always clear coat it to help it stay. Hope I helped!

First of all--you need to find a new tech. L&P nails should not be "eating away" at your nails! You also probably have "oily" nail plates and need a little extra help getting thing to "stick" to your nails. Like extra dehydration of the nail plate and quality primers.
For now, I suggest you find a QUALITY tech that will give you natural nail manicures bi-weekly until your nails have grown in healthy.
I have a similar problem. I am going to find another tech...when I talk to tech.'s, what should I be looking for? I am going to let my new tech know that I have had problems with acrylics staying on. Should I be asking for a certain product? Which products are better quality?
If you do your research and find a REPUTABLE, QUALIFIED, KNOWLEDGABLE, LICENSED tech that speaks the same language as you do well enough for you to converse and consult on what your desires for your nails are--NO ENHANCMENTS DO NOT DAMAGE YOUR NATURAL NAILS!! IT IS THE FOOLS USING THE TOOLS AND YOU THAT DO THAT! As long as you have a good tech/salon and you follow the daily home maintenance and regularly scheduled pro-maintenance; you should have no worries.
Please read my post in this thread about what to look for and what to look OUT for when choosing a salon/tech: first time getting acrylic nails done?
