I'm not sure how to describe this. I put a UV gel sealer on top of my acrylic nails and after they cured for three minutes, a couple of the nails are "rippled". Sort of like if you blew across honey. It's like just one or two broad ripples.
Does this mean I put it on too thick and the heat from the lamp "pushed" the gel into this form?
How do I fix this? Should I file the entire UV gel layer off and re-gel it? If so, I'm never sure how far down to file, so is it important to get every bit of the old gel off, or is it important to file the ripple off?
There for can be a lot reasons. Your lamp is not curing that good any more, the gel is old/dirty, the gel doesn't cure to the acrylic (happens sometimes if you have different brands), or acrylic was filed too smooth. try again if it happens again change your gel.
Now file the top coat off and apply a new gel coat and cure it.
I had the same thing happen to me and it was because I over buffed and the top coat repelled. Always remember to do a thin layer, this not only prevents from the gel shrinking and warped like mentioned above but also prevents from any lifting as the product has less chance to seep into the cuticle area.
